Looking for suggestions: I'm applying for several DMA/DM piano programs (performance or possibly performance/pedagogy) including Indiana, FSU, Peabody, and Oklahoma, per my teacher's suggestions. I'm looking for a strong piano program at a reputable school, and would like to add one or two "safety" schools to my list that I could get in with full funding (in the form of assistantships most likely). I don't have a really impressive resume or an extensive repertoire list (though I am working on Ravel's Gaspard, among other things), but I have placed in state-wide competitions and have a good academic record with 4.0 GPA.
Any suggestions of schools you would include? And why? I unfortunately haven't been able to personally visit any schools yet, as I am on a tight budget and live far away from most all of them. Thanks!
