In my amateur survey of classical and jazz bass performances, I have noted a difference between the two.
In classical bass, the player is off to the right side of the camera.
In jazz bass, the player is off to the left side of the camera.
This is useful to know when you are imagining where the bass player must be when you are watching a recorded performance.
